Returning to a Previous Customer for Another Property Transformation
There’s no greater compliment than a returning customer. After completing a new roof for this homeowner last year, Primeline Roofing & Building Ltd was delighted to be invited back to transform the front of the property with a brand-new block paved driveway in Gillingham.
The existing driveway consisted of an uneven gravel surface that lacked kerb appeal and wasn’t making the most of the available parking space. The customer wanted a modern, durable driveway that would complement the improvements already made to their home.
Groundworks & Preparation
The project began by excavating the existing driveway and removing the old gravel surface. A geotextile membrane was installed to improve stability and help prevent weed growth before a substantial MOT Type 1 sub-base was laid and mechanically compacted to create a strong foundation.
Once the groundwork had been completed, a sharp sand bedding layer was installed and accurately levelled, providing the perfect base for the new block paving.
New Grey Block Paved Driveway
Premium grey block paving was laid in a classic 90-degree herringbone pattern to maximise strength and durability. The driveway was finished with contrasting light grey border blocks and charcoal edging, creating a crisp, contemporary appearance that perfectly complements the property’s exterior.
Every block was precision cut where required before kiln-dried jointing sand was brushed into the paving and the entire surface compacted to lock everything firmly into place.
