Project Overview

Our team was recently called to a property in Rainham to carry out a complete roof replacement on a traditional tiled roof. The existing roof had become weathered and was no longer offering the protection the property needed. The homeowner wanted a full strip and re-tile to restore both performance and appearance, while keeping the home’s character intact.

The Process

1. Preparation & Strip Out
   •  We began by fully scaffolding the property to ensure safe access around all roof areas. Once in place, we carefully stripped off the old tiles and ridge system, removing any damaged materials and disposing of waste using on-site skips. The exposed roof was then checked for structural soundness before moving on to the next stage.
2. Underlay & Batten Installation
   •  A modern, breathable membrane was laid across the entire roof to provide a secondary layer of protection against moisture. We then installed treated timber battens with precision, creating the perfect base for the new tiles. This stage is vital for ensuring a secure, long-lasting roof.
3.  Tiling & Detailing
   •  With the framework complete, we began laying the new tiles, chosen to complement the traditional style of the property. The tiles were carefully fixed in place, including around chimneys and valleys where attention to detail is crucial for preventing leaks. New ridge tiles were bedded and pointed to finish off the roofline with strength and durability.
